Clinical Hypnotherapy is a safe and effective mind-body therapy that can help you optimize your wellness by promoting positive healing thoughts and triggering beneficial changes in the body.
How Does Hypnosis Work?
Many of your daily behaviors and habits are motivated by underlying thought-patterns that you may not be consciously aware of. Hypnotherapy helps by moving you into a relaxed state of awareness in which you are more inclined to accept healthy suggestions. A professional hypnotherapist will help you achieve this relaxed state, and then help facilitate your desired changes through the use of helpful suggestions.
Does Hypnosis Really Work?
Yes, and it is one of the most pleasant and natural therapies available. Hypnosis puts you in charge of your own mind and body by giving you the power to choose beneficial habits and actions and release destructive ones.
Common Fallacies of Hypnosis
Contrary to popular belief, hypnosis is not a state of sleep or unconsciousness. While hypnotized you generally hear and remember much of what is spoken. You are in total control during your session, and you can freely choose to disregard any suggestions the hypnotherapist makes. Hypnosis helps you become more inclined to do things you want to do, but never makes you behave against your own belief systems.
What Does A Hypnosis Session Feel Like?
The most common feelings reported by hypnosis clients include the following: deep relaxation; a slight tingly or numb feeling; a feeling of heaviness or a sensation of floating; and slower rate of respiration. Generally speaking, you are relaxed and calm, fully alert, able to hear and remember what happens during the session, and fully in control of your own body.
How Many Sessions of Hypnosis are needed?
Depending upon your motivation and the type of therapy you are seeking, you may need only one session, or several. It is recommended that each client call for a telephone consultation to determine the approximate number of sessions needed. Ideally, a few days prior to your session, you would speak with the hypnotherapist about the positive changes you have decided to make in your life.
Is a Deep State of Hypnosis Necessary for Hypnosis to Work?
Absolutely not! In many cases, a light state of hypnosis is just as effective as a deep state. In behavior modification, a light state of hypnosis can actually work better because you can consciously remember the suggestions given and better incorporate them into your everyday life.
