 Affirmations for a Positive Attitude

When we think positive, we create a better life for ourselves. All we are doing is replacing the negativity in the mind with healthier thoughts including peace, power and love. The positive energy allows us to manifest what we are looking to create. We become what we believe!

Our mind is a very powerful tool so let's utilize it in a positive way. Begin your day by appreciating just one thing about yourself.
This is a positive affirmation of a real state of being that exists in you. You can achieve a full list of "I am" by taking a personal positive inventory of your attributes, strengths, talents, and competencies.

Examples include:
I am competent                              I am energetic
I am strong                                      I am enthusiastic
I am intelligent                                I am relaxed
I am beautiful                                  I am joyful
I am a good person                         I am trusting
I am caring                                      I am generous
I am loving                                       I am courageous
I am smart                                       I am forgiving
I am creative                                    I am open
I am talented                                   I am sharing
I am healthy                                     I am happy

Today is the best day of my life!

I am free to be me and so I shall be!

Tips for Positive Thinking

1. You have the ability to shape your own destiny with the power of your thoughts.
2. Worry is a useless emotion. By experiencing life in the moment, rather than the past or future, it can free us from being stuck in fear, uncertainty, worry and anxiety. We should only be concerned with the present where we can actually problem-solve a situation as it currently exists.
3. Do not allow yourself to be enveloped in a pessimistic or a defeatist mentality. Focus on positive factors that support you rather than the negative. Believe in your success, not your failure. When you think positive thoughts you find that unexpected opportunities appear where negative outcomes and mistakes used to reside.
4. Your thoughts create your reality. Negative thoughts create negative outcomes. Positive thoughts create positive outcomes. When you catch yourself thinking negatively-stop. Turn things around and find the good in all your situations; you will find positive opportunities start to grow.. .
5. Be mindful of what distracts you from being positive. Write them down if necessary. When they reappear at a later time make a concerted effort to ignore or block them.
6. We all experience life differently as we grow to adulthood. We each develop our own belief system with core beliefs that governs how we operate. Commit to yourself to find and rid the ones that cause you distress or problems.
7. Enjoy life as it exists here in the present. Don't drain your energy by regretting the past, or
worrying about the future. Ground yourself in the here-and- now where you can focus your attention on solving any current problems or situations you may have.
8. Accept responsibility for choices you make and the consequences of your actions.  Stop blaming others for your unhappiness. Recognize what is causing it and take steps to change it.
9. Surround yourself with positive and supportive people. Accept their positive opinions of you even if you feel their opinion doesn't fit the image you hold of yourself. When you allow in positive thoughts you might actually feel more energetic and motivated and have more fun!

A Time of Spiritual Up Grade              By Martine Kaplan-lewin, Psychic

Once upon a time we lived in a world where things seemed ok for the majority of people. We had descent jobs, a nice house, a new car every couple of years, saved and added to our 401k. Over time our investments grew; the stock market did well; there was fabulous growth in the housing market; we got our college degrees and lived the "American Dream." We joined warehouse clubs, made lots of money, shopped until we dropped, consumed, wasted and wanted even more. We were told subliminally to 'upgrade' materialistically and never let yourself be happy or contented with what you have. Remember, nothing is ever good enough! For example, we needed a coffee pot that does 101 things and not just make a good old fashioned cup of coffee. We wanted everything cheap and were not willing to pay a little more for items. Furthermore, we imported everything, exported and manufactured nothing; everything became out of balance. How did we pay for these materialistic upgrades?  No problem!  Plastic works wonders. It's light, easy to use and weighs very little in your pocket. We never worried about the consequences.  We said we would pay for the credit card when we got a better job or a raise.  If we didn't have a great job, we still pretended we did and tried to keep up with the Jones, but they were in the same boat as us and maybe even worse.
Then one day our fantasy world began to fall apart. The truth came out and we faced reality. We woke up and found that as Sam Goldwyn said many times, "a contract written on paper is worth nothing." So, here we are with investments that have gone to the dogs and our homes that are not worth the money we paid. We have huge job losses, people in foreclosure and an economy that's faltering. Everyone and everything has been shaken up and now we are all operating in a fear based mode.  So, what do we do now?
Now is the time for all of us to spiritually upgrade ourselves. We need to reclaim our power, gain back our strength and bring about healing, balance and transformation. We must ground ourselves and create a new world with safety and security. We have to create a new plan, execute it and let go of old believes and patterns that stops us from making progress. We have to re-examine ourselves and change the way we think; this is called self-realization. The question we must ask is, "Who are we really?" "What is our purpose here on earth?" "What strengths do we have to reclaim or build a new?" "What skills we must learn to survive and flourish in a different way?"
I have done psychic readings for family, friends and clients and found that we all have been in situations that presented us with great challenges that have nothing to do with money. Our challenges had to do with behavioral growth. The knowledge that we have come to learn has made us examine each situation at great length, looking at it from a completely different perspective then before.
Now we address situations not in the typical old school material manner but from a spiritual standpoint. For example, you have a family member who is always getting sick. Do you look from a physical aspect only? I start looking at the person's energy as a possible cause. Where did their energy come from? Did it attach from someone else? Was it left over from a past situation that was never dealt with, and is now manifesting in the present? Often, physical ailments manifest in people with energy blockages or imbalances that arise from current issues or past situations that were never resolved. How can I help this family member look at it from a spiritual point of view and not just as a medical condition?  I also have to refrain from taking on my family member's issues in the course of helping them. I have to use energy protection techniques in order to keep their energy from halting my spiritual growth and stopping me from seeking out greater knowledge and truth.

I personally love movies and believe that a lot of incredible films have messages behind them.  A great film to watch about surviving against the greatest odds is called "Defiance," an Edward Zwick film. It's a story of 3 brothers who lose everybody and everything during the time of the holocaust, and how they rebuild a Jewish community in a forest and save thousands of people. The 3 brothers teach survival skills to the people and show them how to have hope and believe in themselves. This movie means so much to me on a personal level. My dear late father lived as a partisan and showed my sister and me skills for living and surviving in this world. I truly thank him from the bottom of my heart.
Today, most of us have to be very conservative with our money and learn to do a better job budgeting. In addition, there are other things we can do to help ourselves and others. Go to seminars or even buy books on the subject. Go to your local library and look for the section on 'Spiritual Growth' and start to read its books, books on tape, DVDs. There are so many ways we can learn to help each other. Also, on the internet you will find many support groups that are forming.
Now is a great time to begin healing ourselves and connect to our higher power. Times may be hard now, but we must all believe that they will get better. Learning to live in the moment is one of the hardest things a human being has to do, but to face our challenges and overcome adversity is a great reward. We can create community groups for support; create a book club in our area, share a meal, open our hearts and rent a spare room if we have one available and exchange services with each other. We are all here to learn and grow spiritually. If I decide to incarnate again into a body, I do not want to keep reliving the same story. I want to upgrade myself and the world around me and be a good example to others.

Wishing you much prosperity, faith and strength,
